There are two versions of Endnote - a stand alone desktop program and EndNote Online, a cloud-based version. EndNote X9 offers some additional features that might be necessary for your discipline and work flow. I know this is tedious, and it may not work for everyone, but I spent a lot of time learning this over the past few days. Zotero and Mendeley are relatively young tools when compared to EndNote. To do that, Ctrl + click on the source in the merge pair that is *correct* (to only select the incorrect one), and change the Item Type in the Info pane to match the correct entry. If you do choose this method, you'll need to correct any mismatches between citation types which Zotero cannot merge. Zotero and Mendeley are citation management software that let you download articles and citations from various sites and databases. This will take you some time, so following Zotero's recommendation of going back to Mendeley 1.18 may be preferable. In Zotero, go to "Duplicate items" and merge all of your duplicates. Supports a large library of citation styles, including RMIT Harvard. Has a single standalone application for users of all operating systems. Features of Zotero include: Open source and developed by an independent, nonprofit organisation. Mendeley is not open source but is free, as well. Zotero is a free, easy to use desktop application to help collect, organise, cite and share references. Its also available for iOS and Android, whereas Zotero is not. Replace all mendeley tags in the bib file using the following command in Replace:įind what, use everything inside these quotes "mendeley-tags = " Like Zotero, Mendeley is also available for MacOS, Windows, and Linux. Mendeley was purchased by Elsevier, and it may be good having a rich parent to support it. ![]() The Mendeley website is also more visited than Zotero and Endnote websites, according to Alexa (these are 2 and 3 respectively). The Word plug-in seems very nice at this point, and it was even able to convert Zotero references into Mendeley references.
